There are many things to consider when choosing the best school for your child. One of the first things is to figure out how you feel about private or public education. If you feel that public schools are the right thing for your child, then you can’t go wrong by sending him/her there. This article will discuss some of the pros and cons of each, and then you can make an educated choice.
First, does your child need a lot of discipline? Can a Christian school help your child manage their discipline better? Can the Christian school help your child learn better ways to behave around other people and less likely to misbehave? Does your child have special needs such as dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorder, or some other learning disability? If so, then the Christian school may be the best option for your child. The Christian school has its own set of rules and accommodations for students with such learning disabilities.
Does the Christian school offer a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for your child? The Providence Classical School in Spring, TX will be able to provide your child with the love and support he/she needs to be successful. The Christian school may also be able to assist in setting up Christian based clubs and activities in the classroom and/or a Christian Music class. So, is this school right for you and your child?
A good Christian school should teach a solid Christian ethic such as self-discipline, humility, kindness, respect, honesty, and tithing. Are you comfortable with these values? If not, then you might want to look at another school.
Secondly, do you have any experience with teaching or school management? If so, can you handle being the principal, the teacher, the director, or someone else in control of your child? Are your self-control and organizational skills good enough for this type of job? If you don’t think you’re up to this type of responsibility, then another school may be a better option.
Finally, does the Christian school supply adequate educational tools and aids to help your child excel? For instance, does the school have computer programs that help develop reading, writing, and arithmetic skills? Do they have music sheets for piano or guitar? If there are no Christian based resources available to you, find out what Christian-based educational materials your school has available. Are there Bible games available to play? Christian-based reading materials?
